The workshop will review the legal and ethical issues to consider in opening or expanding a practice. The workshop will provide an overview of choices of the legal structures for setting up a practice, owning, leasing or sharing space, documentation, and public perception, We will review intake, informed consent, confidentiality, records, tele-health, electronic health records, advertising, social media, and general business issues. We will discuss the applicable provisions of the Maryland laws and regulations, the Maryland and Association ethical codes, and how to recognize potential issues.

 After attending this workshop, attendees will be able to 

• Understand the various forms of legal entities, and the legal and ethical issues relating to the expansion of the practice. 
• Understanding the legal and ethical aspects of owning, leasing, and sharing offices.
